I bought a 12 gauge Browning shotgun in 1980. Recently I had it appraised where I was told that it was a Citori. I admit it looks similar, but I bought the gun in Belgium. There are no markings other than saying Belgium Browning. At the time I paid $1200 plus gold engraving which I know helped in value, but without the engraving what might be the value. I was told later that the Japaness bought that particular style that is now the citori. Also I have seen different cost on the citori ranging from $1000 to $4000? I thought without engraving a citori was a citori. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate any information you might have.

I am hoping to find someone who can restore a Home Comfort wood stove. Where do I begin to look? I think the stove is from the early 1950s(~1953) and I believe it is cast iron. The eyes are stamped w/the number 3077. The front of the stove has doors and appears to look like a regular oven. The oven door has a temperature dial. There is also a water resevoir on the right side of the stove.

Antique Paper Dolls..I have some paper dolls I have never been able to find listed. They are victorian. Little girls and they come in a heavey carboard Santa that opens up with slots on inside where the dolls and clothes fit. The other is a Christmas tree with slots inside. I have a blue and white oval plate 10-1/2" by 8". It has a trades mark on the back that is blurred. It has a crown resting on a snake in the shape of a pretzel. At the bottom of the trade mark you can read the word "ENGLAND" Ther is a word inside a box between the word England and the snake that seems to end in "TTER". At the top is an arched ribbon that contains a word that may start with "CO". Between the ribbon and the crown is another word the may end with "..celaw" Can you help me identify this?

I have a brooch made of wood that has three holly leaves carved into mahogony or walnut and with two bells under them. A lighter wood is carved into dimensional bells with 2 brass tacks for the ringers placed in the center of the bottom of each bell. My sister gave me a Globe-Wernicke Sectional Bookcase. It has a paper attached to it that says: Golbe-Wernicke Sectional Bookcase Made in Cincinnati Standard D-X Top Pattern Grade 998 1/2 140 It is pretty good shape. It could use a refinishing. My grandmother recently gave me a very old doll she had way before she was born. It's very old you can tell by the way the mouth was done and the condition of the paint on the body, I'm not even sure what kind of material she is made out off, I've never seen it before. She has eyes that can close and reopen, and she has two what looks to be teeth showing, painted on her mouth. She has a cloth body from her stomach, her arms nor her legs are cloth. When she is turned upside down there is a sound made, which we figured out is supposed to be her crying. It looks to be very old, and i've searched for answers, and I can't find anything even similar to the way she looks. I have what looks to be 7 miniture eleborately carved ivory elephants, which stand on top of each other decreasing in size and are on top of a black carved base. There is oriental writing or some sort of signiture under the base in the middle and is circled. All there trunks are up and there tails alternate in direction as you look at them. It was purchased in an antique shop in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and I was told it was made in the early 1900's to sell to rich people at the circus. Supposedly there are only 100 of them in the world. I would appreciate help in identifying and learning info and value of a set of dinnerware given to me by my mother years ago. She told me that they were her grandmothers wedding dishes. They are a dark blue floral pattern on white. The pattern is only on the 2 inch rim of the plate. The edges of the plate are slightly scalloped and also has a gold line for detail around some the pattern. On the back of each plate is a stamp mark that is a circular shape made to look like a banner. I recently purchased a ceramic/tile painting in a frame from an estate sale. The painting looks like a village from a distance, from a hill top. I have what I believe to be a jam or condiment serving dish. It is comprised of an underplate, approx 6" across, then three separate pie-shaped pieces which sit together to form a circle, approx 4" across, that sit on the underplate. Each section has a place for a spoon (ceramic also)to rest, and all three pieces are then covered by the one lid. All pieces, except the spoons are decorated with strawberries and vines with a deep red rim around the edge of the lid and the underplate. There is a small strawberry atop the lid as a handle. It has a small silver sticker on the bottom, but all I can make out is "Made in Japan" stamped in the center of the sticker and possibly the company's name around the outside edge of the sticker, although this is very worn. It's a glazed piece but has no other markings beside the sticker. I have no idea where to look to find any information on this item. Thanks!

I have two vases that have stamped on the bottom J.Kent Semi-Porcelain England.They have some kind of a logo which looks like the world with a crown on top. They also have a stamp or mark that looks like the numerals 1748 with the letter F underneath stamped in gold leaf. The vases themselves are ivory in colour with decorations of multi-coloured flowers. They are trimmed with gold leaf and have gold leaf handles on each side. Hello All!! I have a question for you. I have a bowl(oval). I think it is for vegetables or something. It has a crest on the back(in red) with an animal of some sort holding something in it's hand. Attached to the top of the crest is a crown with a cross on top of that. Directly under this crest are the words Schumann-then Arzberg-then Germany. All placed under each other. Then there is another crest (blue)with a crown in the center. Above the crown(and inside the crest) are the words "golden crown". Directly under the crown(inside the crest) it has "E&R". Then under that is the date 1886(still inside the crest). Under the crest are the words "Moon Rose". It is guilded in what looks like gold around scalloped edges. There is a grey and whitish full bloomed rose in the middle with leaves around it. The bowl itself is white or slightly off white. Can anyone tell me about this piece? I purchased 5 small bowls approx. 5" in diameter at an auction this weekend. They are white and have 8 gold rimmed scallops around the top edge of each. They appear to be hand painted. Each bowl has either flowers or fruits painted on them. On the reverse side of each of the small bowls it says O&EG Royal Austria and appears to be signed by someone named COCHRAN. Can anyone help me date these small bowls or direct me as to how I could possibly begin to research their age and who the artist is? She has a hollow trunk where she sits on a motor whiah when turned on her torso moves, and her arms move also. She has rooted hair glass eyes . We have a perfedt 12 place setting of a 1940 made NORITAKE CHINA set that we are willing to sell or offer to a museum because we have not place to keep it! We know that it is made in 1940 (by the back mark) , but is a mystery pattern made in that era. Per Ms. Alden's book we are able to identify it as being made in 1940! It wa my mother's set and we had no place to display it, bu t we are willing to offer it to any museum interested or sell same! It is in excellent condition! I just came into possesion of a few japanese plates. I know nothing about this sort of thing. I was told they are from the House of Kuane and are limited producation pieces. they are hand painted in 14 karat gold. they are signed by the artist and bear the stamp of Kutane. I have a white/glass candy dish. The base comes up to a rectangle shape with a scallop edging around it. The rectangle lid has a womens left hand holding a dove. The middle finger of the hand has an impression of a ring with a red setting in it. The doves eye also has the same setting. There is alot of detail work on the dove and the wrist of the hand has detail work of a lace sleeve. If anyone has any information on this I would like to hear from you. I have six bisque figuries that are in excellent condition and all are hand-painted. Two separate are a figure of a man and a woman standing on a pedestal. The bottom says JAPAN. The man is dressed victorian style with a dove sitting on his arm and holding a septar or cane in the other. It is mainly pastel colors (very colorful). The woman has on the bottom, Japan, Sylvan China - Continental Merchandise Co., Inc. She has the same pastel coloring and she is holding up the front of her dress dress length with what looks to be a scarf. The woman has a bow on her hat. Then, two candlestick holders that have hardware inside to be made into lamps. A cherub is on both and again pastel colors and hand-painted. On the bottom is Lenwile China - Ardalt, Japan It has an AA symbol. There is a number on both of them, 6287. A paper flower is on one and a ceramic flower is on the other. Next is a small vase with a female child-looking cherub standing on the corner of a vase. On the bottom it says, Made in Occupied Japan. Next is a chariot with a cherub on both ends of it. Same coloring as the above pieces and bottom says 1969 (this cannot be a date as the former owner had it in the 50's), Pa__ux (can't read the whole thing), made in Occupied Japan. The last piece is a chariot with a man helping a woman out of it, greeting her with flowers. Same coloring as other pieces. It is being pulled by female horses. The back wheel of the chariot appears to be missing a little piece. If any one has any information, I would greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! Glenda

I have two paintings signed by Sophie with TMCO underneath. They are approximately 6 1/2" by 7 1/2". In the frames they are 11 x 10". The titles are "Sur Les Pointes" and "Danse Romantique". They both also say Ballet Interpretations. I can only find information on a Sophie Anderson (married name) in a french museum that painted ballet portraits, but I can't find these two titles. I recently purchased A lovely tall Vase/Urn, and I know it is made by a noteable mfgr. but, I don't know enough about it to know Who made it. I've seen the mark on other items on antique and collectors tv shows, but I can't for the life of me remember the name that goes with it. It's on the bottom, and carved or stamped in the pottery, and it's A kind of cursive v g mark. the letters are connected, it is the only identifying mark on the vase that i could find. The vase is approx. 28" tall, and approx. 14" wide, it has A interesting streaky tan-brown color base, and A almost tiger striped black glaze over that. Yes hello I have this old violin that I had bought from my neighbors about four years ago. Now the violin originated from Germany and was made by the name of, Francois Salzard. The bow came with it and it has the original mother of pearl inscribed into it along with the tail piece of the violin resembling flowers. My neighbor said that it was passed down for generations in their family.It was also mentioned that it was as old as the early 1800's and maybe older. I recently inherited a desk that had been my great-grandmothers. My mom remembers playing in all of the little drawers when she was probably 6 or 7, (She's early 60's now). The only identifying marks are part of a tag on the back from Maddox Tables, Jamestown, NY and the #5897 on the underside of all of the drawers. The desk is about 41" high, 29" wide and 19" deep. It has a slanted, drop down top with numerous little drawers and cubby holes. It also has four drawers below the drop-down. It is in very good condition with the exception of some wear on the finish on the top. The drop-down and the four drawers all have key holes but I don't have the key. Any information as to the age and worth for insurance value would be appreciated.

I have some very old stamps that have been used, some of them have hand written post marks on them from the 1860's and up.Some of them are from the early 1900's and they have stamped post marks on them. I have searched all the books I can find on stamps and cannot locate them. Someone from a post office told me that they made have been inter-government stamps that was only used between government offices. I have found no information on them but they have to be rare. I would appreciate any information on these stamps. I also have a post card that is dated 1907 with the one cent stamp still attached, the card has a picture of a man in a very old military uniform holding a cane and who is pointing his finger at who must be George Washington holding an axe in front of an cherry tree. Hi. My mother has an ivory oval-shaped pendant, 2 1/4" x 1 1/2", on which are carved seven oriental people from the waist up, six men and one woman, all of different vocations. One gentleman on the bottom has on no shirt but an open kimono and the lady seems to be wearing a garment with a hood behind, has her hair piled high with a comb and holding a fan. One gentleman on the side is dressed in military uniform with headgear and holds a spear alongside with a red tie on it. A man at the top has an elongated bald head and droopy black moustache. They are very detailed and hand painting is done on the clothing, the faces are ivory with painted face details such as eyes, mouths, beards and moustaches, and also the hair and headgear are painted. The ivory has taken on a light carmel colour. In the center of the back of the pendant is a small red rectangle (1/4" x 1/8") with four oriental symbols in black. Mom doesn't recall when it came into her possesion but seems to remember there used to be a paper with it describing what each person symbolizes. Would anyone have any information on this pendant and the meaning behind it. Thank you.

It is a serving for 12 and there are many, many pieces including egg cups, casseroles, coffee container, etc. It is white with a rim of blue and gold. On the back it says 1814 CM. Underneath that it says Kutschenreuther adn under that Hohenberg or Nohenberg, Germany. I have 2 tea cups that are hand painted with hollyhocks, butterflies and dragonflies. The hollyhocks are bright colors and the butterflies and dragonflies are green and yellow. On the bottom of the cups it has a crown and some other drawings under the crown, on either side of the crown is says esti and crown, at the bottome of the crest it says staffordshire, made in england. Around the rim, base and handle it is gold. Also on the bottem it has F12917, 2 dots of gold paint and a 21 above the crown. The other teacup has a different number painted on it F121417, and has a 41 above the crown. Can anyone provide me with any information regarding these cups?

Hello. I recently found a green glass candy dish, by Jeannette Glass Co. from the Adam pattern. Apon closer inspection, the lid with it is not from the same set. It is the exact same shade of green, but the flower pattern looks more tropical, and the handle isn't the square diamond like the Adam lid. we have an old Italian violin bought by our family sometime in 1890 as a third hand musical instrument, it is reddish brown with back flame , analysed to have used non synthetic glue, varnish aged to be about 250 years old and cremonese in origin, inlaid purflings, with an ivory nut, very very old, with a strad label. according to two violin makers here in the country, no strad copy came close to the workmanship of our violin though they hesitated to declare it as strad, ivory nut is rare according to them, we are at a loss in proceeding with the sale or assessment of our violin. by the way, my great grandfather is in our history books as a renowned musician, Alejo Carluen, who studied under some Italian Master violinist late in the 1800s.
