I am inquiring as to a dish that I am not sure what it was used for and what the value is of such an item. It is spherical shaped and sits up on four legs which are lion heads with claws. The top of the dish rolls back. I assume that it is mostly sterling silver. On the bottom of this dish is a crown print with 1883 and F.B. Rogers imprinted on it. I am looking for any information regarding Vienna Woods fine china. I have a tea set but I don't know the pattern name. I read that Seymore Mann owned the Vienna Woods china company and had his china made in Japan. I would like more pieces of this china. It has a handle on each side. The front three red & yellow apples, two pink & white flowers and two green leaves. Thanks for the opportunity to try to get some information on two pieces of furniture. One is a buffet with two center drawers and two side compartments with hinged swing open doors. The second piece is a china cabinet (I am currently using it as a bookcase) with two shelves. The front is glass with a large wooden oval scroll design overlay. There is also a single pull out drawer immediately below. The pieces are solid wood and the orginal hard ware seems to be solid brass and is engraved on the back with the number 7414. I have been married 40 years, and received as a wedding gift a Silver or silver-plated English Soup Tureen. It is heavily etched, the lid has a Acorn Leaf formed as a handle lift for the tureen. It is about 10 inches high and holds about 2 quarts (maybe 1-1/2 quarts) there are no markings but when given to me it was told that it came from England (which they bought while visiting) and it has a heart emblem on the bottom. I have a partial set of china that belonged to my grandmother whose family was from Germany. She passed away 2 months before I was born (34 yrs ago) and this set was very old then. My mother passed it to me when she died. I have no interest in selling this but would like to find out more about how old it is, etc. and possibly purchasing more matching pieces. It says Hutschenreuther Gelb on the bottom with a Lion and the letters L.H.S. under the Lion in a circle. Bavaria is written under that. Each piece has a number such as 43 on the bottom. The pieces are white with a floral pattern in 3 places with pink and purple flowers and gold trim around the outside rim. I have checked on Ebay to see if anyone has similar items for sale but have not been able to find this pattern as of yet. I know my grandmother lived in New York for at least 20 yrs. before I was born so these have to be over 50 yrs. old at least. Any information any one has would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have aome Dresden porcelain pieces that I cannot find any information on. They have a 5-point crown with a D on or near it and the name Reine Handarbeit or Sandizell. They are done with porcelain lace. There is a large coach pulled by two horses and trimmed in gold. I have acquired two very distinguished antique figurines. The mark is two arrows, crossed. Feather ends (lines to indicate feathers), four lines each side, at the top, points at the bottom. The have type-style numbers S 8508 and S 8452. One is of two men sitting at a time, talking, with a dog underneath, the base has gold sculpturing in front. The other is an old woman sitting by a copper cook kettle and a young boy standing behind it and warming his hands over it. I have a couple of neat old lamps...the shades are cylindrical, and almost look/feel like mica--the bases are a heavy, soft metal, with 2 cherubs on the stems, the bases are painted, the shades have a metal top, and the bases have a K in an oval on them. I know nothing about them, just always thought they were cool sitting on my Grandma's mantle when I was a kid, and they were recently handed down to me. I have a quite heavy, approximately a foot almost square, chromed tray with itched intricate designs on the surface which my father found in a Japanese tunnel in Davao City, Philippines, right after the World War ll. I have several pieces of Blue Glass with hand painted enameled, stylized flowers and gold edging on the pieces, The blue is a deep sapphire blue, translucent, and the pieces seem to be blown as there are what appear to be blowpipe attachment marks. There are no seams like pressed glass. Family history would indicate a european connection possibly Germany, Austria, or Netherlands, although British or American origins would be possible, and time frame would likely be prior to 1900 and earlier perhaps much earlier. Pieces are Water or Milk pitcher with a ruffled edge, and six associated tumblers, slightly wider at top, a covered butter dish, a creamer pitcher and a covered sugar bowl.The covers for the sugar bowl and butter dish are finished in a hollow spherical knob. If anyone can identify a manufacturer or country of origin it would be most helpful. My internet searches have at this time revealed some "Moser" vases which have a similar but not quite the same enameled markings, and a Green Tumbler of the exact same shape with similar enamel work simply identified as "Victorian Glass" We have aslo found one example of a reddish vase labelled "Bohemian with somewhat similar enamelling. I recently picked up 2 oval apple lithographs from an antique shop. The frames are approx. 12 x 10 inches, they are painted deep sage green and on the back it says "hope co". I have two items that I'd like information about. The first is what appears to be an original sketch by an American artist, Roselle Osk, titled "Pop". Pop is drawn with pencil and is sitting on a barrel in the farmyard preparing chickens for supper. The other item is a coin-operated radio/bank manufactored by the Crown Radio Corporation, Japan. Model HT-430S. The am radio is operated by placing a nickel in a slot. It is powered by 4 AA batteries. Any information on these items will be greatly appreciated. Also, there is no date on the picture or the radio/bank. Roselle Osk died in the middle 1950's. She has a couple of items in the Georgetown University archives.

I have a lenwile pitcher, handpainted with a picture of fruit, a wine bottle with wicker holder and a wine glass. The lable on the bottom says lenwile china, hand painted. It also has 18k paint on handle and around mouth. The lable has a cactus on it and the # on the bottom of the pitcher is 6918k. I check on another site and none of the lenwile items looked like this nor did their lables. I would appreciate any insight on this piece.

I have had a set of Wedgewood china (12 place setting) for many years. Large dinner plates, smaller ones, salad size, bread plates, soup bowls, footed cups and saucers, creamer and sugar and misc. items. In general, the pieces have a light blue border with a white floral relief. It is glazed, of course. I love this set. Much of it is stained because the glaze is crackled on some pieces and I am missing many pieces. I would love to know the worth of this set . . . because I would like to know if searching out and replacing the missing pieces is worth the trouble. I want to pass this along to one of my children. It is marked Wedgewood of Eturia, there are numbers impressed in each piece and other markings. Can anyone tell me it's origin, date, possible worth, etc? Is this something to even bother about? About 27 years ago, my parents bought an antique china tea set, consisting of tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl and 6 cups and saucers. The man they purchased it from estimated the set's age to be about 50-60 years old. My parents TRIED to have the set appraised but no one can identify the company that made them. Each piece has 14K gold trimming the rim, bottom and handle. The pieces are white with iridescent coloring. Each piece has a hand-painted picture of a man in brown breeches and a woman in a pink skirt--their clothing looks like it might date around the late 18th century. The only marking on the bottom of each piece is a gold crown with a cross on top and three inside the crown. No one seems to be able to identify this emblem. If anyone has ANY idea what this company is, or any other information about such china, we would GREATLY APPRECIATE it!!! Thanks a lot!

at a garage sale i picked up a very cute item and wanted to know if anyone out there had some information on it. it's a brass or copper holder of three little perfume bottles or perfumed oil bottles, about 2 inches high with little black twist tops on them. I recently purchased some lustreware porcelain tea cups and saucers. The exterior of the cup and top of the saucers is silver and the inside of the cup and bottom of saucer is red (not a bright Chinese red, more brown in it). The markings all say Bavaria and the name J. B. Crosman. Can anyone tell me more about them. They are in good shape, but I think the saucers went through the dish washer a few times.

My wife recently acquired a family heirloom in the form of a porcelin figurine. I am interested in the potential value and origin of this piece. I could best describe it as a hand crafted porceline figurine depicting two young children, a boy and a girl, dressed in old world style European attire. The girl is dressed in what could be described as a Mary Jane dress (using a modern term) short boots and a sun hat with a feather. She is holding a headless doll in her hand. The boy is dressed like little boy blue in the traditional nursery rhyme illustrations with short pants, knee stockings, buckle shoes, feather cap, waist coat, and a sash as a belt. He holds the head of the doll in his hand. The entire figurine is about ten to twelve inches in height and about eight to ten inches in width. The piece weighs around five pounds. The piece has what appears to be the craftsman's benchmark and a date on the bottom. The benchmark looks like "Mc" although it is not very clear and the date (if it is in fact a date) is 1764. My mother in law says the benchmark is that of a German craftsman or Company named Meisen (pronounced mycin) or some such. Any information would be appreciated.

I have a two sided angel. She is about 17 inches tall and 6 inches wide. On one side she is bowing heer head in prayer. On the other side she has her face looking toward the heaven in prayer. She is made out of plaster- she is not signed. When I bought her at an estate sale I was told that she was at least 75 years old maybe older. I have had her for 21 years--so that would make her at least 86 years--she has aged well. I have never seen an angel that is two sided. I would really like to have some information on her. My husband just brought home a dining room table and chair set that he said was around 100 years old. We had some work to do on the table and two of the chairs but it is in great condition and I would like to know alittle more information if I can. The table has a leaf that is attached and folds under the table. The table legs are constructed with a piece attaching the bottom of the two leg pieces. The chairs have very scurpured backs. The table is square with the corners cut with a design on the bottom piece. The split of the table has a curved design that separates when you use the leaf. The color is a dark brown. Legs are attached with pegs and brace with a additional piece of angled wood. The under side of the table is not painted or stained. The color of the under side is a light wood. I would appreciate any help I can get to find out the age or any information about this dining room table and chairs.

I have two Royal Saxony Art Plates No. 103 In Gedanken and No. 105 Irene produced exclusively by the Chas W. Shonk Co Chicago USA. They are tin plates printed with vibrant colors. Both plates depict a woman. No. 103 In Gedanken is of a woman dressed in a long white garment with a floral wreath on her head. She is sitting on a scarlet garment of some sort. She is barefooted with daisies at her feet. She is the center of the plate and is framed with various shades of gold flowers and leaves as well as scarlet. The other No. 105 Irene depicts a woman from her chest up dressed in white with blue criss-cross bodice top. She has long brown hair and is wearing some type of hat. She has gold hoop earrings, blue eyes and pink lips with light rouge coloring on her cheeks. the back drop is blue/green with blues, greens, burgundy and gold designs framing her. I am having a hard time finding any information on these plates. I would like to know when they were made, what their value is and whether or not there are other plates out there that match them. I'd love to collect more of these plates.

I'm trying to find out how to buy the sign that hung outside of Scrooges shop in the movie A Christmas Carol

I have a set of dinnerware. The stamp on the back has a triangle with Century Service Corporation on the outside of it. On the inside of the triangle is Semi Vitreous Dinnerware. Then on the bottom: Alliance-Ohio and Autumn Gold. The picture on the front are three golden pieces of wheat and three golden leaves and another flower of some type. I am just wondering if anyone knows if these are of any value - I believe we have the entire set. Please mail me any info you have on this. Cassie

Have a pitcher (probably milk pitcher) holds approximately a quart of liquid. On one side is picture of Ulysses S. Grant and on other side is unidentified picture probably of his vice president as there is a draped flag under both pictures. This is an old pitcher, has age lines and color, off white. On bottom of pitcher is the name G.M. & SON. On inside of stamped box is the the words "Ironstone China". Between the two words is a picture of a pitcher. Would like to know date and value.
