Title: helen robson
Post by: sugarcube on December 12, 2011, 09:08:51 am
I have had this for about six years, off and on I have tried to find out who Helen Robson is but my question to the forum is could it be possibly from the Walmart family?

Helen Robson Walton?

It has a hand signature of Helen Robson on the back, not sure if it will show in the picture

Your pics are so bright that it shows no detail !! And the flash hides any signature !!  Just try taking pics with no flash in front of a window with natural light !!  Usually a hand signed piece indicates a home made item depending on how its done !!  Thats what this looks like !! If so then look close to the area you bought it for that name !!  There used to be hobby shops everywhere that sold greenware and then they were bought and painted by hobbyists and taken back to the shop and fired !!

I knew it didn't show the signature, I just didn't know how to get a good pic of it.

I did look up every Helen Robson in the US and wrote to each of them and asked if it were theirs, but I never got a response from any of them.

Thank you for your help!

Could you try to post photos of signature again maybe without flash on in daylight.

I didn't think I could get a clear picture, I'm glad you prompted me to try.

Here is the signature, and I didn't mention this on my first post, but these were all sold together but only one has a signature

The reason you are trying to find the person?  To return it? To determine value?

Unless it was someone uber-famous the value will not go up on this....even if it was Helen of Walmart.

The style is very artsy...more modern...later 90s

the reason I wrote to six helen robson initially was to see if she did more of these, I just liked them

I only read recently that helen robson walton was an avid art lover, never knew that was her name but then my imagination ran away and I was sure I hit pay day.

I still really like them, valued or not, just interested in the history too

thank you for your response, at this point I have not heard from any of them, either by letter or by email.

Yes, I actually wrote letters, something antique all by itself!
