im going to an auction tomorrow and in the previews was this chair. its really interesting me! these pics were on the auction website so i have no other information on it. what do you guys think i should pay for it?

I think it looks mighty uncomfortable! :)
Chairs were drawers were originally "commodes" and at some point in English history they made gorgeous writing chairs that had a drawer for storage and a desk top on one arm. Later many variations of chairs with drawers came about for use with a table style desk and telephone tables (drawer would hold the phone book).
Would need to know if this was original to the piece. Can't tell if it is a repro or not. The little tag on the back would be interesting to know!
However, I do believe your is from the mid 90's. It appears to be a man's valet. The top would house the man's business coat and the drawer would hold shoe polish and buffing items. Also the indention below the "hanger" part of the chair would hold keys/change, etc.

well if i end up buying it i will definitely post more info on it ;D

Nice pick up KC! - I agree

I agree that it's a valet. You would sit on it to tie your shoes and you hang your jacket on the "shoulders" at the top.

You got it !!! Excellent catch !!
