You dug deep for that post. It definitely is a windup,I have the key. Chimes every 15 min. I was told by a clock dealer it would date about 1930

Herman Miller began the movement into modern design under DePree in 1930. This clock is not really reflecting the American style office furniture look that was born at that time. I think 1930 is around the right date. It is the Eames Era beginning in 1946 or thereabout  when he was hired as a designer, that began the styles that Miller became so famous for. Those are highly sought after today and have been reproduced by Miller in the last 15 years. Hang onto the clock as the well known name will probably increase its value as the mid century pieces become more scarce. I am still kicking myself for selling the boomerang coffee table on Ebay years ago. I actually had to pack and ship it too.

From what I read Howard Miller actually produced some of the clocks for Herman Miller Furniture Co.  Of course his name was used since he owned the company but you might check it out !!
