Hi Everyone! I have recently inherited an antique parlor chair, but have no working knowledge of such pieces. I was wondering if anyone had any information to offer about the chair, such as its origin and possible value. I love antiques, so any new information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time in advance!

some more pics from a different angle,...legs, under side...will help
-
Oooh lovely! Also show up close on any hardware on the underside. Brackets, nails and screw heads. Look for any slotted screw heads that have an off-center slot
-
Maybe these will help? Thanks already! This is wonderful! And that is all of the hardware that is visible.

Nice!
My guess is 1870s, probably northeastern U.S. It could possibly be by one of the major cabinetmakers such as Herter Brothers or Pottier & Stymus. It appears to be burled walnut and ebonized cherry over walnut. I'd say value is $500 - $1000, depending on where you are.

1870's!? Wow, thanks so much! This chair was my 99 year old grandmothers and has been sitting in her house ever since I can remember. I also live in upstate NY so ghopper1924, you were spot on!

I agree with Ghopper !! Late 1800` !! Doesn`t look like its ever been recovered !! Or if it has was shortly after turn of the century !! Nice chair !!

BTW tyhend1 this chair was part of a parlor set that probably included a sofa, a couple of armchairs, and several side chairs, of which this is one. Do you have access to any more chairs from this set?
