Title: Hand Painted Nippon
Post by: bittingerdl1 on January 07, 2014, 09:41:04 pm
My wife bought this vase at an auction for $3 and afterwards the previous owner told her that she got a heck of a deal on it. I have looked them up on ebay and the prices are all over the place, and I have no idea what to look for. The bottom says China, i think E-UH, hand painted nippon. What do you think it is worth? Thanks in advance!

TE-OH Japanese Nippon pieces are sold frequently on EBay, Etsy, etc.  Fortunately you paid a good price.  Unfortunately you won't get $$$ rich on it.

Depending on size of your piece can give you an average value.  What size is your piece?

It is 12.5" in height and 8.5" in diameter. Thanks for the quick responses!

On the internet, this is referred to as T-China, Te-Oh, E-Oh, Je-Oh and on occasions - my personal favourite - Tohina ( the c being misread as an o )

 ;D

There's nowt so queer as folk, they say.

Depending on where you are located...this could go for $30 to $95.  I know it is a wide range, but it is all contingent on buyer demand.

Also, I couldn't tell the intricacies of the detail in your picture.
