see link.according to what it says there..the B.G in an oval.....is for Bert Gordon.....the first line on the link...looks like yours apart from the date letter being different

i mean for the -"x" mark.

Youare just confusing yourself...the X mark on the item, is,nt in an oval...the Edinburgh X is in an oval, ..furthermore, if this was an Edinburgh mark..then..i think the X would be foremost....from the link i,ve given i,d have to say, the B.G in the oval..is obviously the makers mark, followed by the anchor which is the Birmingham mark, then the lion...which, i,m unsure of..then the X which is the date mark...
