Title: Painting by Antonio Candelas
Post by: aDawn on February 20, 2014, 02:59:44 pm
Good afternoon all!

Just got back from a very snowy adventure /estate sale where I picked up this painting signed Candelas. It measures 24 inches x 36 inches. The paper taped to the back says that Antonio "No-No" Candelas lives in El Paso, Texas and was born in Mexico in 1938, along with a little more information. I'm guessing it's from the 60's or 70's.

I'm looking for more info on the artist and wondering if anyone has any educated guesses on the value. Also wondering how to safely clean it. I think it's an oil painting on canvas, but I know next to nothing about paintings.

Thanks in advance everyone! And hopefully you all aren't dreading shoveling tomorrow morning as much as I am!
 ;)

One recently sold on Ebay for $275

I think the bio on the back gives a decent history of the artist.
