No markings anywhere? I'll pull out my books.
-
thanks a bunch greenacres--you think clay? Heavy

It looks like pottery. Can I see full actual shape. I don't see anything yet.
-
learned something new
-
It seems crudely made, unless that was the intention.
-
Stoneware is what it 's called. The top isn't completely round. It also doesn't have a seal, so it's probably late 1800's.
-
greenacres thank you a lot

here's a full pic

Not a bad price. Without any marking they're not as valuable.
-
actually paid 15

Anything on the bottom ?? Looks like some of the stuff from Mexico we have here !!
-
nada mart, just some felt as you can see
-
Unless you have a pottery expert around for a hands on...kinda hard to say on this one.
Gotta' admit...like Mart said this looks alot like items that we have seen come into our area from Mexico over the years.
Just google "vintage Mexican two handled stoneware" and you will see many similar.
-
The felt bottom also makes me think Mexico,,,they didn`t use that on old stoneware !!
-
Personally, it looks new to me. Crudely made by hand, yes. But not very old.
