Would this be a print someone has for auction? http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/181297622332?lpid=82

Did you by any chance read who the artist is ?? I can guarantee that all you find like this are prints !! Rembrandt`s work has been in the public domain for a long time !! Anyone that wants to can copy his work and sell it !! They did say in the description that its is a "re-make" of his work !!

says in the description is oil on canvas so no its not a print

Sorry Sugarcube,, its still a print,, just a modern one !! Today they do them on canvas with oil paint or acrylic and can reproduce the smallest details !! Prints done on paper are rare these days !!

I likely should have typed 'copy' rather than print. The original I believe is at the National Gallery of Art in Washington.

I concur. Last week I passed on a Gainsborough Blue Boy that was by a well known art company that specialized in "oil on canvas" repro's. I see these all the time. If you look though a loop you will see that there are no age cracks in the paint. Also the back of the canvas will not look 300 years old.
