Title: Identifying Rosary?
Post by: robertperkinson on June 22, 2014, 11:56:26 am
Today, I bought a rosary at a flea market in Budapest. The seller said it was from the early 20th century, around 1910. The back of the crucifix states it was made in Italy. The little portrait of The Virgin Mary is marked as being from Medjugorje; which, after research, have concluded is a famous Catholic Pilgrimage location in Bosnia. I'm just wondering if anyone can help me piece together a story, and whether or not this is legit and from the early 20th century. My concern is that Medjugorje was not a pilgrimage destination until 1981, so I'm assuming it might not be. Thank you

Sorry to have to agree with you , robertperkinson , but your little item is of pretty current vintage , as you've suspected , & not of 1910 vintage !

Unfortunately, I have to agree as well!  Still a nice piece for a souvenir!
