Title: Two Signatures to compare
Post by: kdj on July 31, 2024, 07:05:28 pm
Hello, I have a picture painted in oil, and in heavy layers of paint/impasto painting. The signature on my painting is R. DELONGPRIE.
I thought to sell it so I looked for other work by this artist. I did find several web sites with his work for sale.
I compared the signature on my painting to those on the other works. It is the same name. DELONGPRIE's subjects appear to be mostly animals: Tigers, Persian Cat, Seagulls, Lions etc. - at least form that time.
Another detail about the others  is the huge size.  Mine is 52 inches by 42 inches.
Years ago, I read this was referred to as "sofa art".
When I found some of his work, I thought it was too good to be true.
I would appreciate someone's opinion as to a match in the signatures.
My painting's signature is the one on the seagulls, over paint colors in grays. The other signature is over tan colors. Thank you very much .
Now I am going to attempt to add pictures. I've been getting error messages. Maybe I can put them beloe in a reply?
