Title: enamel on copper jewelry set - help
Post by: wendy177 on August 12, 2009, 08:40:28 pm
Hi new to all this!  I have just received a enamel on copper jewelry set (earrings, necklace, bracelet & pin) from my mother's estate. Makers mark is Marca in original box that says Broste's airport division. It is a beautiful bright shade of red with gold swirl. I have been unable to find any info on jewelry made by Marca. I have researched diffrent pieces by other makers with good results  but can find no info on this one. Any and all help would be wonderful. Really love this piece so would like have more info.

Thank you  Wendy

Can you post a pic of where the words are written?

Do you have any idea how long she has had this?

Enameled?

Hi KC, I can not be sure of how long she has had this piece as she bought from many auctions &  estates she was a wonderful collector all her life. I have thousands of pieces jewelery (bakelite, bsk, weiss & so on) along with just about everything else you could think of from compacts to clarice cliff. I do believe the piece is enameled. Hope the photos help
thank you so much

I suspect Marca. simply means registered trademark.

Marca means brand in Spanish.  In Portuguese it means mark.

My inclination is that it was a nice set sold at an airport kiosk.   Broste' is a big name in Denmark.  However, their specialty is not jewelry (furniture, candles, chemicals, etc).  But a smaller run business by a Broste' would not be unheard of.
