Ok gang, I have this vase that was my grandmother's parents. It was a gift. I know it is about 100 years old and handpainted. It is porcelain and covered in a metallic silver. It stands about 7" high. I have a few pix.

Nice vase! My first impression is that it was a blank that was later decorated by an accomplished china painter. I'm sure someone here will have a more educated answer.

I have looked off and on all day yesterday and haven`t found anything similar !! Hopefully Ironlord or Wendy will be on soon !! They are glass people,, I am not !! I forgot to ask,, what does the surface feel like ?? Looks similar to satin ware !!

Mart not a glass piece it is porcelain. :)

Mart, It is Porcelain and I know it is very old. The silver looks like silver leaf in its appearance. the painting is great and the piece has been kept in a 100 year old oak china closet most of its life. It is in perfect condition.
