Antique Questions Forum / POP QUIZ!

I just thought it would be interesting to see if people would know what this item is. My Grandfather gave it too me, it was his fathers, and he told me to use this to remind me to finish school when things got tough. It was one of many great lessons from a very wise man! :-)

« on: February 07, 2012, 10:45:44 am »
Hi, I have had this barometer/thermometer for a while. I got it from my grandparents and I was just very curious about it, I dont think its very old but any information about it would be great. Any info on the value would be great too, although Ill never sell it due to sentimental reasons.  :)
Thanks

Antique Questions Forum / fireplace kit
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:00:33 pm »
Hi, I was in my aunts garage and found this fireplace kit. I was wondering if it had any value, or any history to it. There seem to be no markings on it but it is very heavy and seems to be made of brass. Any information would be appreciated.

Antique Questions Forum / oval marble top table
« on: February 06, 2012, 06:48:14 pm »
Hi, I just found this table in my aunts garage and was wondering what its history was. It has a very heavy solid marble top. The base is very ornate with hand painted porcelain medallions running all the way around. The only markings on it is "made in spain" underneath. I was just hoping someone could provide some information on the history of the item and maybe a value.
Thanks so much
