After looking at yours again and noticing the clip was almost the same I was wondering the same thing. If it wasn't from India also.

Hi snowflake. I was looking through the forum trying to see if there was anything I could help anyone with when I saw your nice fish carving set. That reminded me of all the countless hours I have spent looking for a similar set to mine with no luck at all. Seeing how knowledgeable and helpful everyone here seems I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

I received this carving knife and fork from my great uncle. He couldn't tell me much about it only that he got this from his grandfather. His grandfather was a colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War. I'm thinking it was either made during that time or before the civil war. Was trench art common during the civil war? The only marks I could find is the letter N.

Thanks very much for the info you have found. I thought about taking it to be professionally appraised but not really sure what I would be charged. Would they really have a good idea? Just guess? Or would they just search the internet for a good forum like this? Plus I have so many antiques I'm not really sure what I should take to get appraised or how I would get them all there.

I almost listed it on ebay but I have had some bad experiences selling something on there before. Here is a Royal Dux deer I was telling you about looks like it came from the same mold but is poor quality compared to mine. Is finding almost the same thing made by another company a common thing? http://www.ebay.com/itm/royal-dux-deer-figurine-Signed-white-gold-/170646266125?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bb4f610d

Thanks for the reply. I saw that website too and I thought the same thing 1945 to 1992 but on the Haas & Czjzek site it says its from 1918 to 1945. http://haasczjzek.cz/vyvoj_znacky.html Wish the H&C site was in english.

I have this Haas & Czjzek silver overlay deer I can't find much about. This is an item I would like to sell but I don't know what would be a good price. I have seen only a few other animals made by H&C that seemed to be from around the same time. The one was estimated at being from around 1931 and was repaired. I did manage to find a deer made by Royal Dux that seemed to be made from the same mold but was not as finely detailed as my Haas & Czjzek deer. Value? Thanks Kevin.

I have these three hand painted cups showing scenes from the city of Prague. Does anyone know how old they are? Any value? or artist?
