One is signed Nina and the other one I'm not sure what it says. Kind of looks like Jte.

This one is signed K Kaga. The other two have different signatures. The one I have is the same image as the one they had for sale but you can deffinately see differences in the scene and the signature so they were both hand painted.

I have these three plates that I thought were modern junk. I know my parents have one or more just like this with a similair scene. The plates were made for hanging they have two hole thru the bottom. There are no makers mark so I used the artist signature to look one up. I found an online add for one of the plates I have and they claim it is 19th century. I still think its modern. What do you think?

I never noticed before but I do see what you mean by the drama in the lacquers. I was more comparing sizes and prices and not really comparing the paintings themselves. Thanks for clearing that part up for me mart. I would still like to know what medium was used for these paintings. Any suggestions?
