Lot of views but no comments. Im stumping you all here with these huh  ;D I have a few exactley like this one below with slipware stripes  I think they call it on the top . I did see one just like it on ebay just not long ago it went for 175 or someting close to that they described it coming from the southern NC area but I have not found any info in books or on the internet to confirm this to be true. I know a lot of old Redware and yelloware started in the Germany area before it got to the USA. Maybe some of these are German. http://cgi.ebay.com/Slip-Decorated-Redware-Southern-NC-EARLY-Folk-Art-LARGE_W0QQitemZ130367242667QQihZ003QQcategoryZ1217QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7848780919331426931

I bet it would grate many other foods also. I have never used it. I might try soon. Wonder what country it is from. You think US ? Was Duplex the company name ?  I have a few other grinders to post later. I have one that does have extra blades and it is heavy duty, more a food or meat grinder I think. This on here is kind of light duty and it does not have anywhere you can change the cutter wheel or grinder blade. Nutmeg, Nuts, and the sort would be my bet also.

I bought it at a public auction same one where a lot of my pottery came from. They just received a huge lot of antiques that were shipped to them from Old Germany and the French regins some PA stuff also.  I saw your coffee grinder, looks like a nice one. I have a few old ones but none like yours.  I also have a weakness for old stuff that was used around the home.

At the top it has the 2 large flowers carved on each side and there is a house in the center with trees on the sides. It is very worn and smooth. I have never seen one like it. Maybe Dutch Holland origin or German ? which is just a wild guess.

Have you ever seen one like this ? dated 1899 on the top.

Few more.
This one is huge almost 17" across and 5" high. This might be considerd yelloware.

This one is a favorite

These 2 are different they are much thinner and you can see they are  redware clay and they are very smooth and shiny on the bottoms. These seem to be very very old and you can see the green decoration still on the inside.

There are more to come.

Ok here is a pair I think might be Moravian made. All of my pottery has been well used over the years. 2 large bowls here to start off with.
