Antique Questions Forum / Re: antique book by John Fleetwood value help

its just unique.....and I posted it on here because i cant find information on it anywhere....I have tried every web site immaginable, and you can find either the author and title together, but a different publishing company, or the author and publisher and a different title.  I recieved the book for free from a family member, so i do not have any money in it. half the spine is missing, but i think it was done intentionaly by a previous owner because there is actually pages from a different book used to make the spine....part of me wanted to peel back the rest of the spine to see what the papers are, but i know that any value left in it would probably be ruined by doing that.  the cover intrigues me, because it has not only the cross and religious aspect but also a moon with a crown and stars at the bottom and a pyramid with a rainbow-ish arch above it at the top, which seem to me not to fit....like astrology, not christianity. IDK what ever its value, it is interesting none the less, and it has more than 200 beautiful pictures in it protected by tissue paper (or the equivalent of that time period). here is a picture of the spine and what is below it.

* we also found in the book a silouette of a lady....the silouete is cut out of the paper....its thin almost tissue like paper, and a needlepoint "Thy will be done" book mark, if this interests any one else.

when i looked at the one on abe books, it was not the same one.  the publisher is different.  here  is the book, it was published by william flint in 1873, written by rev. john fleetwood.  it has over 200 choice engravings and was sold by subscription only ( at least that is what the title page says)

We have an antique book sold only by subscription titled the light of the world: a popular repository of Religious Knowledge.  It was published in 1873 by william flint and co. we can not find information on it anywhere. it is a leather bound book, with gold detailing, including a pyramid with a raibow looking arch over it, an moon with a crown around the middle and stars around it.  any info would be helpful.  thaks
