Thanks for the info on the pentagram, Syl. I did try at that site and could only find one mark with an ant, and that being a French mark.

Sorry, I meant the handle, not the blade.

Is there some significance biblically of a cherub riding on a giant carp? Seems like a strange design, wonder what it is!

Did you perhaps mean $150? I agree with the latter two posts, $1500 back then would have been a fortune. If it was truly $1500 in 1929 definitely send pictures to an auction house like Sotheby's if you want to sell. They consistently have furniture in that ball park (monetarily) and could tell you if it's worth a small fortune.

Mind posting a few pictures here?

Thanks! I was rather surprised at the piece myself! Interesting note on the eagle, as well. Hard to tell but it does look a bit odd.

I'm thinking either Russian or Judaic, but I looked through some books and at some sites and haven't come up with anything yet.

A bit creaky, but yes, comfortable! I bought this piece at a garage sale a few years ago fr $50 :) I was quite pleased with my find.

I have one, but it is so small that I still can't quite make it out. It might be a lion, but again, I can't tell.

One would think, and I thought so myself at first, but upon closer inspection, especially at an angle, it looks very bent.

It's kind of hard to tell, but do you think the knife is supposed to be curved?

I have never seen a Wahoo Bitters sign, but I recently saw a Wahoo Bitters bottle sell for around $500- if that's any indication of the value.

Haha, I was thinking the other night that it looked like a hot air balloon.

There is the hallmark of the company (a heart intertwined in a square with a J in the middle). And your theory might very well be correct, just strange that I can't find anything on this company. Good call on the fruit knives too, I didn't consider that.
