WOW!! sapphire,many thanks.
We were all out of town yesterday,so I was excited to see
all the information that sapphire had found :o I know Hunter
will be excited when he wakes this morning. He has a few more
items that he wants to post, but I will have him put a little
more effort into research. :-[
Thanks to all who replied, but a special thanks to sappire.
We still have a little more cleaning to do,but I think it has
turned out looking great for an ''at home'' cleanup,on a $4.00 item ;D

I think it is cleaning up fairly well.
I have not tried to clean the label up.
I think a Dremel may work better on it.

Antique Questions Forum / Did I do ok buying these Flea Market items?
« on: July 01, 2010, 06:32:30 pm »
Hello,its Hunter again.
My family and I went to a few flea markets today and we just got home.I have been saving my money
and was able to buy a few things.I don't know much about what I bought so maybe I did ok.

The first is my favorite it is a cash register I paid $50.00 not sure how old it is,but it all works perfect
the name on it is Burroughs

The second says it is a fire extinguisher it has a lot of writing on the front,it looks old
and I would like to know how old I paid $4.00 for it.Would it be ok to clean it up?

I have a few more things that I will ask about later on if that will be ok

My name is Hunter Willis,I am 15 years old Keith Willis is my dad.
I bought this book on ebay and was wondering if somebody could tell me something about it.The title is ''A HISTORY OF THE WORLD.....WITH ALL ITS GREAT SENSATIONS''this is Vol.2 I think it would be nice to have Vol.1.It seems like a very interesting book.I would like to know if somebody would know when it was written.somebody wrote on the inside cover March 15 1897.It is not in very good shape. I know it is not worth much but I really like old books,or anything else that is old. Thanks for any help.

These two typewriters belong to my 15 year old son.
He said he has done a little research and has not found
what he would like to know.We would like to know about
how old they are,and although he would never part with
either,he would like to know a guess as to their values.

The first is a Underwood that was given to him,by his
Grandfather(my dad).Dad worked with the RailRoad,
this one was in the old RR Depot and dad said he typed
on this one when he first went to work for the RR back
in the late 60's.

The second one belong to his Great Uncle, who used
it for his work.He worked in some form of Milatary for
nearly 50 years, and retired as a Sargent Major (i guess we are kinda proud of that).
It was given to my son sometime after his death.

Thanks for looking,
Thanks for any help.

God bless,Keith
