Antique Questions Forum / 16pce gold cutlery teaset - real or not? Worth?

This cutlery set was bought in Germany in early 70s and is 40 years old.  It has not been used and is still in it's box in excellent condition.  I am curious about it.  Any ideas anyone, please? Can it be gold?  Make my dreams come true or let me have a good laugh about my in-laws!!
