Antique Questions Forum / Antique Typewriter - Dumbfounded
« on: August 08, 2010, 11:16:27 am »
Hello there all, I am hoping someone more knowledgeable in typewriters than I may be able to help; if so, I would be forever in your debt.

I have a typewriter here (picture included) and I am trying to figure out what model it is. I know, it would seem obvious that it is Remington Standard 12. The thing is, the roller-bar section of it does not seem like the ones on other 12s I have seen. I was thinking that it may just be a roller bar from one model, placed on this, except it seems to fit in so well, and the support for the bar, that is a part of the base itself is also longer than those on other 12s I have seen. As far as I can tell, it looks more like a Standard 11, with 12 painted on it. To boot, it has an LZ model serial number. That may not be an issue, but, (and again, I admit my ignorance when it comes to Remingtons - more of a Sterling man, myself) it seems LZ is a separate series as well.

If anyone can help out, I'd certainly appreciate it! Thank you all!
