Antique Questions Forum / Villeroy & Boch Footbath
« on: August 08, 2005, 07:36:01 am »
I would like to know how old this footbath is or any information that I could find out about it. I bought it at an estate auction where they were liquidating the estate. I'm sorry but it was very hard to photograph Villeroy & Boch on white porcelain. It however is stamped into the bottom in a straight line. There is a JK or JR stamped above that. That you can see in the photo a little better. Inside of the footbath there is a flower in the center in the same blue design that looks like an onion.

I have tried several times and can't attach the pictures - I even did a zip file and can't get it to 10K. Is there another way of sending the pictures?

Antique Questions Forum / August Hausske Co.

it's a hard company to do research about this company. There is very llimited information about them. I also have an original tag on a eastlake set but it stated August Hausske bros and was handwritten to the K&B Krup. I did find out that they had a booth or something at the Great Fair and that they sold furniture in the Sears Catalog in about 1902.

Other than that I haven't been ablr to really find out too much more.

I recently purchased a footbath. It is fairly large with flo blue designs around the outside and a small flower on the inside. It has a plain stamp that says Villeroy & Boch with a JK above that. Could anyone help in determining a date.

I have a 3 piece set with a tag that says Aug. Hausske & Bros parlor furniture frames. There is no date. Does anyone have any information about this company, possibly a year so that I can date this? Any information or guidance would be greatly appreaciated. Thank you  :D
