Hello again, I have this set of "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. they are hand printed JAPAN on the bottom.

As posted in my last topic of the candle holder, I found this in the same place. I just have no idea what it was used for. There is a patent number on one side of it. any help would be, well, helpful!

Hello everybody!
My first item I have up for show is this candle holder, I found it in an old cabin in where the ranch hand had lived, and he lived to +100 years, most of spent on this wealthy ranch. We got full access from the property owners as they are friendly clients of my fathers.
The base is a heavy formed metal which looks like brass (I think). Any information on it would be helpful. Thank you, see pics below.
