I was wondering what may be the value of this Chippendale style American Highboy in Mahogany. Its been in my family for several generations. The feet are somewhat squared with a slight taper. There are 3 large drawers on the bottom section. There are two doors on the top, the one on the left hiding 3 smaller drawers, the one on the right opening to two interior shelves.
It is a flat top design that stands about 5 feet tall. It has latticework ornamentation aside the drawers and doors. The distance between the floor and the lowest point is about 5 inches. It appears to be late Chippendale style if I am even close to the period. Weighs about 250 lbs plus. This is the first time we have attempted to evaluate or appraise this piece of furniture.
Would appreciate any help from someone who is familiar with evaluating antiques/furniture. Thanks.
