Antique Questions Forum / Ceramic Horse and Wooden Wagon
« on: May 04, 2011, 01:58:57 pm »
I Was Wondering if anyone would know the era this piece is from. I have researched a few websites including e-bay. But i was not able to find one like it. I have also checked the horse and wagon for markings, But could not find any. I bought it at an auction cause it looked interesting. I'm thinking maybe its from mexico since there are no markings. Any help would be appreciated.

I BOUGHT A BAYONET AT AN AUCTION AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY LUCK IN IDENTIFYING THE YEAR OR WHAT COUNTRY IT IS FROM. MOST OF THE BAYONETS IVE LOOKED UP HAVE SOME MARKINGS OF THE COUNTRY ON THE BLADE. THIS DOES NOT. IT ONLY HAS A NUMBER 17519. THE HANDLE SEEMS TO BE RESIN. THE KNIFE AND SHEETH MEASURES 14 AND A HALF INCHES. THE BLADE IS 9 AND 3 QUARTERS INCHES. THE ROUND PART WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE BARREL IS 1 INCH. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS TO ITS VALUE OR YEAR AND COUNTRY IT WAS MADE.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ON THIS DESK. IS IT ANTIQUE OR A REPLICA OF AN OLD DESK. THE ONLY MARKINGS ON IT ARE  V1111. THE MARKING ARE ON THE 2 DRAWERS AND ON THE INSIDE OF THE DESK. I HOPE THESE PHOTOS WILL HELP IDENTIFY IT.

Antique Questions Forum / AFRICAN ART OR INDIAN

I AM TRYING TO IDENTIFY THIS WOODEN HEAD CARVING THAT I PURCHASED AT AN AUCTION THIS PAST WEEKEND. IT HAS NO MARKINGS ON IT, BUT IT IS VERY DETAILED. I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS AFRICAN ART OR INDIAN ART, OR IF IT IS OLD OR NEW. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.  THE SCULPTURE IS 18 INCHES TALL AND I SEE NO MARKINGS ON THE BASE. THE BASE DOES NOT LOOK ORIGINAL, AND THERE ARE 2 SCREWS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BASE.
