Antique Questions Forum / Re: Very old 13" German stein

I thought about checking inside to see if there are any more markings. It's actually my grandfather's so next time I'm over I'll take another look. And hopefully the author of that website can identify it with the marking on the bottom.

I went through the markings by category and did not find anything that resembles the "flower" logo. I emailed pictures to the author and hopefully he can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the assistance everyone.

Thanks guys, I'll check those sites out.

Mart - I think the makers mark is the picture of the bottom with the faint lines, but it was hard to make out. Seeing it in person, they look like intended markings not cracks.

Hello, I'm trying to find more information on a particular German stein belonging to my grandfather. It is approximately 12.5" tall and he believes it is almost 200 years old. I took pictures of the markings, there are more words on it that I will try to add to post #2 but the system only lets you upload 4 pictures at a time.

I tried searching what seemed to be the name but all I got were websites in German, so I guess my Google-fu isn't very good. Any info is appreciated.

If anyone has an idea of value too that would be good, it has a few chips but for the most part is bright and intact.

Edit: There is a second mark aside from the Germany one on the bottom that I couldn't tell but took a picture of. Looks like a couple of lines.
Thanks.

Thank you both, that's what we thought but weren't quite sure. It's in bad shape but I still wanted to know exactly what it is.

Thank you all for the help. This is very interesting to me because everything I've put up for identification has been in the family probably since it was new/created. My godmother still has Model T truck wheels and lots of horse and farming related tools, much of which was used for lively hood and well taken care of. I mean this is a farm where old mortar shells are still used as flower holders :)

Thanks wayward that's probably what happened because I know that the piece slides out and the handle comes off.

Thanks for the tip, but this has been hanging on the wall in the house for at least ten years. Should I still bother at this point?

Thanks for the reply. The off-color piece in front of the handle on the big one seems to be an original piece that slides out so the handle can be removed.

I looked all over and there were no markings on the wood just the blades (unless they were too faded to see). I checked the sides/top/bottom.

I've got an old tool that I'd like to identify. I was told it might possibly be related to shoeing horses. There were no markings on it that I could see. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi all,
I've got two tools (I believe carpentry tools) that I'd like some info on. I don't believe anything of great value but they have been in the family for a long time and we'd like to know more about them.

The only markings are on the metal that I took pictures of, unfortunately the first name didn't come out well and I didn't write the name down, sorry about that.

Thanks a lot for any info.

I'm making the obvious assumption that the tires are junk or close to it. The wheels themselves seem to be pretty good structurally. The wooden spokes don't seem to be rotted/comprimised so hopefully if she decides to sell them at some point they will be useful for someone. She may even wish to sell them now after learning that may be of value to someone.

Thank you everyone for the replies. And mart - I figured it was 1927 money I just wanted to clarify.
I'm glad to get so much feedback!
