Antique Questions Forum / old green bowl? stumped!?!?
« on: July 28, 2011, 10:43:49 pm »
Hi, I came across this bowl at a garage sale, and I thought it looked pretty cool. I looked at the bottom and it has something that says "Meuager" ????? I honestly cant read it except the M at the beginning, and the ger at the end. Underneath it says USA and underneath it is a date or some type of number. it sorta looks like 1773 even thought I know that isnt the date of this item, at least I dont think so. Ive searched different variations of the name on the internet and can't find anything. I was going to keep it for myself but if I find out it's worth anything I might try to sell it. Anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks for any help guys. Here are some pics.

Thanks again guys!!

I found it laying in the "hat" section underneath every hat in the booth, like it was hidden for someone. The more and more I find searching, I do see the stamp on the back of each of them, and I see them priced anywhere from $150-$300. But I cant find any type of Appraisal price or value. I have some antique price guides on the way, so maybe they will have something inside them. Thanks guys!

I found this at a thrift store today and grabbed it up. It is a Lithograph from Honore Daumier. On the back is a letter of authentication. I have seen others on the internet, but all the pics I see none of them have what this one i found has. There is some type of Notory stamp of authentication. Like it has been Notorized. the embossed stamp reads "Society of Verification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale" "Authenticite"  I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not. I see the picture going anywhere from $40-$300??? Is it really that vast of a value or is there a distinct value? Please any help guys, thanks!! Here are some pics

I bought this spice rack at a garage sale today for $2. It looks sort of old, and it has never been opened, the plastic shrink wrap is still around it, and the original cardboard pieces holding the tubes inside are still connected. You can tell its been sealed a while beause the tape has turned that brownish color from sitting for so long i suppose. It doesnt have any markings at all except a made in Taiwan sticker on the bottom. There is a sheet of paper with different spices names to put on the bottles, and another sheet above that that just says Decorative spice rack and Item No. S-3. Ive searched all over the internet and cant find another one like it. Any info guys? here is some pics.

Antique Questions Forum / Adams Ironstone Dr. Syntaz plates??

Hi I came across these plates at the thrift store today and they looked interesting. There is 6 of them and I got them all. They say "Real English Ironstone EST 1657 England Micratex" Then Underneath it says The Tour of Dr. Syntax in search of Pituresque" THen has about 9, 3 leaf clovers at the end. around the rim seems to be some type of acorn/pinecone pattern.

In between each plate has a different name for the scene. They are as follows:

1. Doctor Syntax disputing his bill with the Landlady
2. Doctor Syntax drawing after Nature.
3. Doctor Syntax Bound to a Tree by Highwaymen
4. Doctor Syntax reading his tour
5. Doctor Syntax stopped by Highwaymen
6. Doctor Syntax sells Grizzle

I did some searching online and found some different things, but nothing that shows me what these could be worth. I can take more pictures if needed. Thanks for any and all help guys.

I came across this at a thrift store today, it is really nice. It seems to be some type of tea/drink pitcher. It has a picture of two females and a young child on the front. The handle seems to be half gold plated, or painted possibly? It has nothing on the bottom except a faded made in Japan stamp, and the thrift store wrote 9.99 on it. I searched around the internet and didnt find anything, I may just be looking in the wrong area. I am curious about age, origin, and possible value? Here are some pics. Click the thumbnails to enlarge pics. Thanks guys!!

Thanks again for anything you can give me guys!!

Antique Questions Forum / 2 Items I came across, any help??
« on: June 13, 2011, 05:42:32 pm »
This first item I bought at a yard sale for $1. It just looked unique, and I know not one thing about it. It has some type of asian art on it with asian writing. It seems to be some sort of serving tray. It looks wooden but seems to be some type of laminate. There are no markings or writing on the bottom. The bottom seems to be painted black. Any idea of value or if it is just nothing at all?

The second item is some sort of pitcher with a tray. It seems to be ceramic. it doesnt have any markings at all either on the bottom or anywhere else. There is so much detail and work put into this, thats what made it appeal to me.
Does anyone know what this may be, or what the value, or age, or origin may be??

THANK YOU SO MUCH for any and all help you can give me!! It is very deeply appreciated!!
