Many thanks for the reactions! Bought it for 20 Euros, is that also the value?

Hi guys,

Back again, this time with a fairly old teapot I bought. I think it's silver plated, but don't have any idea what kind of value it might have. It has inscripted on the bottom;

Shaw & Fisher
45 Suffolkroad
Sheffield

And the numbers 9493, 2 and 94.

Can anyone tell me more about this piece?

Antique Questions Forum / Chinese clock
« on: January 15, 2012, 09:47:12 am »
A couple of years ago, I came across an old Chinese clock on the dutch ebay (marktplaats.nl). I was immediately interested (it had just been on marktplaats several minutes), called the seller and eventually bought it.

The clock is heavy, and in my opinion very nicely painted. Unfortunately, the clockwork itself doesn't work.

Can anyone tell me more about this piece of craftmanship?

Thanks for thinking with me. Last mention should be a possibility, didn't think about that yet...

I think I'm going to sell both paintings, any clue what price I can ask? Or is it an obvious 'what someone is willing to pay'?

Both paintings have another history ('not the same attic'), so to me it seems fairly impossible that it's the same artist/model. This painting is on wooden panel also...

Should be an H or an M, for me it's something like 'Hennick'.

Next to the painting from Reeves & Sons. (see other topic), I found another one in the attic. This one does have a signature, only I can't read it proparly. Anyone any idea? I'm from Holland, so probably a dutch artist.

Haven't got any clue about age also, so any information is welcome!

I got it out of the frame and made new pictures. No signature found, only some chalk writing on the frame itself.

Sounds logical. Could be Nov indeed. Anyone any information about artist (R. Johnson?) and estimated value?

I was wondering (especially after my succesfull last topic) if anyone could give me some information about the painting from attached pictures. I'm from Holland and bought this very cheap at 2nd hand sale.

Backside sais; Reeves & Sons, manifactures 113, cheapside London. Also; R. Johnson Nor(?) 1861

I'm looking forward to any reaction.
