EBay Forum / Are New Seller's Taking a Hit?
« on: October 28, 2011, 08:39:17 am »
I'm not a new seller, but I did just open an account for selling my items, mostly antique figurines. My wife and I used one together for years but now that I'm selling more than buying, and she the other way around, we decided to split ways for book keeping sake.

I'm wondering though, if now I'm basically going to be giving my stuff away even taking a loss for awhile till my stars are up.

Like for instance, I have this rare Sitzendorf  and it's gotten multiple bids(main reason being I started it at 1cent with no reserve and free shipping) yet when I look for it in a search, it's always waaay down in ranks, like in the bottom 10 or 15 %.

I thought ebay liked hot shot gamblers who let their stuff fly out the window in hopes to grab some attention from the buying masses. Am I nieve in thinking this, and should I rethink my strategy and keep it more conservative like the Buy it Now Nymphenburg listing I have up for sale?

seriously though Will. Have you tried listing this thing on ebay with something like "Ancient Alien Art Artifact" in the title?

Because you never know- whoever crafted this thing could have been merely making a  representation of some space craft or some biengs they really saw and a technology that they couldn't have otherwised explained.

Heck- whoever made this thing could have even been made to or ordered to by which ever race of beings was running the planet at the time. These ancient aliens or astronauts could have enslaved our iron workers and forced them to make artful objects that the aliens could then send back to their planet and sell online.

Just saying- you never know ::)

Antique Questions Forum / Nympenburg Figurine
« on: October 28, 2011, 06:39:29 am »
I have a couple of Nymphenburgs that I would like to find out more about. One I have listed on ebay and I'll try to provide the link now.
Nymphenburg

The other I do not have listed but would gladly post a pic if i knew how. It is blanc de chine monk figure that sits on top a large podium decorated with a goat's head. It stands about 11 inches or 28cm tall.

I've spent hours and weeks trying to find out the designers and the dates of these items, as well as whether or not they are original or reproduction. I've even emailed Nymphenburg.com and asked if they could send me a catalog or tell me anything about the pieces and their values. No response.

Any help would be great

I'm not sure either, but I think certain ancient astronaut theorist from the History Channel might have some speculations to offer.
