Yes its a floor lamp its 59 inches tall.

So do you think that it is an original work by the Mullers, or that someone altered it and then put the word "Amazon" on it?

Thanks everyone, you've already given me a lot more information than I previously had! =]

Antique Questions Forum / Metal "Amazon" woman lamp identification
« on: November 21, 2011, 04:38:36 pm »
This lamp was given to my grandfather by a woman who immigrated to the United States from Ireland. He converted the lamp from gas or oil to electric. Other than that I do not know much about the actual origins of the lamp.

On the bottom of the lamp underneath the legs it appears to say "Mullers" and "-NS NY" but the word before Mullers and the rest of the word with the "NS" in it are cut off by support beams that have been welded on by someone in the past. I have researched metal sculptures associated with the name Muller, and came across "Hans Muller", but since the 'u' doesn't have two dots above it where it is written on the lamp, I have read that it is probably not the work of Hans Muller.

I have attached pictures of the lamp. Does anyone know anything about its origins?
