« on: July 01, 2021, 10:21:58 am »
Brought home a box of old photos and books that were my grandmothers. Photos and books from early 1900's. This photo album was also there, no photos in it or any writing on it. Anybody have any info/thoughts on it?
Thanks

Antique Questions Forum / Re: Lea desk

Ahhh !! So it is !!  Just as good !!  I didn`t blow it up bigger,, just looked like the Texas star to me in the smaller pics !!  But the Eagle is good too !!  Still ask $100. !!  I could see several uses for a nice small  desk like this !!

Thanks for the help.
I consider it a kids desk, maybe it is not. I was a kid when my parents bought it for me. It's too small for me, 30" tall, but then I'm 6'. I can barely fit my legs under it.

I have this small desk my parents bought me 40-45 years ago. It says "Lea The Furniture People" inside one of the drawers.
The drawers are solid wood, some other parts of the desk are solid and some look like  pressed wood.
Any info I found online is older desks. Lea Furniture went out of business in 2014.
I was going to give it away, but thought I'd check to see here if it might be worth anything?
Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the replies. I will leave as is or find shorter casters that match the table.

Antique Questions Forum / The Hamilton MFG. Table
« on: March 31, 2017, 11:02:59 am »
I have this table that came from a newspaper pressroom that shut down. Very heavy. The top looks like it was cast and sits on pins on the frame. It comes off but weighs 150#+.
I added casters so I can move it around, but it makes the table too tall.
I thought about cutting the legs down to make it more usable.
My question is.. Should I leave as is? I don't want to cut the legs down if it does have antique value.
I know it is old, but now sure how old.
I googled Hamilton mfg and see a lot of tables, but not the exact one. They are pricey.
Thanks for any help.

I have a old Dormeyer Model 4200 electric mixer. Does anyone know which model meat grinder attachment fits it? There are meat grinder attachments on eBay, but not sure if they fit the model 4200.
Thanks for any help.

Canvasboard is generally not used by professionals except for quick studies, and preliminary artwork !! Its most often used by hobby artists because its cheap and comes in multiple packages of two for 16X20 size above and three per pkg of smaller sizes !!  You would be hard pressed to go into a gallery and find something for sale that is done on canvas board !!  You didn`t say what state you were in ??

Ohio, I was just courious about it. It was a gift to her in the late 1960's.

I have a painting that was my grandmothers, she got it probably in the 1960's. It is trees and woods on canvas. The back says "genuine canvas panel for artists " form M. Grumbacher Inc. out of NY.
The artist name is Briggs that is in the corner. No first initial.
I'm just courious about it, been watching too much antiques road show.
Any ideas where I could find info on it? I searched and there are a few Briggs out there, but don't know which one.
Thanks for any help.
I can post pics if needed.

I figured out what is on the handle,

Little Giant
North Wayne Tool Co
Oakland ME  USA

Still don't know what it is for. I found the Davistown Museum which have a lot of Little Giant tools and knowledge. I emailed them with a pic. Hope they reply.

I was looking at it and noticed barely visible writing on the handle. The words were stamped but it is worn so bad I can't read it. So I did the paper and pencil trick and came up with "LITTLE PLANT" under that it is unreadable then "TOOL ED" then something "USA", probably the city.  I googled but came up empty. I'll get some thin paper from work and try again too see if I can get more.
