Antique Questions Forum / Ink well

Hi all. I have what appears to be an antique ink well, but haven't any real idea of the maker or age and value. Hoping someone can help? I've been told it's probably an antique Quill ink well, but would like to be certain before trying to sell it, or not. It is emerald green glass, has ten sides, and an aged brass lid, but no identifying marks or other indicators as to origin. Thanks in advance for any info. I can't figure out how to post pictures of the thing, so any help with that would be great, too.
