Think you nailed it with the alabaster, tricky sucker. (EDIT) Ok so I tried to scratch it with my nail and it doesn't scratch it, I read alabaster is soft. Also makes a nice chime if struck with a coin or metal spoon, and it's icy cold if you put it on your cheek. But it does scratch with a stainless steel knife. Does this still sound like alabaster?

Found this at a garage sale a few days ago, paid only two bucks. The man I bought it from is unsure of where it came from or what it was. I have done several test and determined it's jade. Now this piece is weird looking, I thought it was from a lamp or something similiar but now im not sure. It weighs about 5 pounds and has a hole going through the center of it. Anyone ever see anything like this or have an idea of what it is or where it came from? Thanks :)
