Y'all are great...what a wonderful forum this is...my sincere appreciation for all of the superb constructive information/ideas!

Just recently acquired this fantastic dressing table/vanity. We were told it is turn-of-the-century...which to my ignorant eye certainly seems to be the case. In fact, the glass of the mirror is obviously hand-cut. Any ideas/input regarding it's origin, manufacturer, style, etc would be much appreciated! It actually looks better than the way the camera flash accentuates every little "defect". We love it! Where my wife and I differ is in whether or not to paint it. I say "no", I would rather try to bring out the original wood finish...a lot of work, but... She wants to sand and paint it with possibly crystal knobs. I personally think it would kinda "devalue" it by doing so. My thanks in advance!

We're thinking about painting this and using it in a "themed" room, but do not want to lessen its value for the long-term.  And the beautiful wood grain and patina(?) look so rich!  Also, any ideas of its age.  For whatever it's worth, one of the cross "beams" on the underside bears the number "3275 D" in what looks like white paint.

We've had this a few years now.  Love it, was told it was antique.  Any info regarding the set would be much appreciated.  I've found no identifying marks thus far.

Hello, I'm new to the forum. You have a lot of great info contained within, which is much appreciated!

Q:  Although I guess not actually an antique...I have a Bernhardt Hibriten queen bedroom set consisting of headboard, 2 X nightstands, dresser & HEAVY mirror.  Condition is very good.  What is a realistic value in order to sell?  Please see photos.  My thanks in advance!  Mike
