Antique Questions Forum / 1960 Roma Olympiad coin
« on: July 31, 2012, 09:30:32 am »
Hey everyone,
I've come across this coin/ medal/ token and I have done a lot of research trying to find a similar item and some more details on the item, however I have found nothing.

The coin has got 1960 - roma olimpiadi on one face and a picture on the other face which I am uncertain of.
Any knowledge you may be able to pass on to me would be brilliant!

Also, the vases above are approximately 11 inches tall.

Hi Guys, I'm looking at a couple of Chinese vases to buy. But I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to Chinese antiques. The vases are part of a matching pair and I've been told they are at the very least 50 years old. If anyone knows any more about these such as there age, origin etc that would be fantastic.

All the best,
Toby

The item in question was at an auction and I managed to win it for £20! I am of the position that it is genuine and I believe that the seller had no idea what it was as it was listed as 'Millex mouse toy motorbike' which is why it was cheap. I need to go pick the toy up soon. As soon as I have picked it up I will definitely take more pics and show you guys!

You'll hear from me very soon

1940s or so. Very cool. Make sure you're getting the real thing and not a reproduction!

Thanks for the reply, any chance you know how to tell if it's a reproduction? It seems to be the real deal.

Hi guys,
I've found this vintage mickey and Minnie mouse riding a motorbike cast toy.
I've not been able to find any details about it such as age and origin. I managed to find the same item on eBay.com, see below.
If anyone has any more info, can you let me know?

I've attached a pic of the item I'm looking to buy,

All the best,

Is there any writing on the inside? Usually where they would keep the key. Is there a name on the face? Nice clock by the way.

Sadly, this is the only info I have about the clock, my uncle only gave me the photo and said, "what can you find out about this lovely clock?" Sorry I dont have any more info

Hi guys, my uncle found a nice clock and he asked me to find out a little about it, for example age, value etc.
It's below, I think it's a beautiful piece, the photo is all I have of it sadly. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated,
thanks, Toby

Suggestions about any good wooden items...

I have a lovely Anglo indian carved wood chair:

I was looking to sell on eBay, but if an antique lover on here wants it, I would prefer that.
I'm in the UK, just ask if you'd like to know any more

From what I could see of the crack it didn't look too bad. It may detract from the value a little.

I think we've got the right time period, ca. 1860. I think 1K for the value is still pretty accurate, without actually seeing the chair of course. If you're trying to sell it, I'd start in that neighborhood.

Lots of nice handwork from what I can see. It's a beauty! You're lucky to have it.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am truly thankful to be able to own a beautiful chair like this! All the best
Toby
