Thank you so much for replying. The specks do appear to be diamonds. I tried to post a picture of the ring from a side angle but it won't allow me to do so. Underneath the setting is open inside with the four prongs. Sorry if my explaining is making it more confusing! I have tried to do some research online about the ring but I am finding absolutely nothing. Thanks again for any help anyone can give me!!

Hello everyone! I am in desperate need of some help regarding my grandmothers ring. It has a 14K gold band with a four pronged high setting. Inside the four pronged square silver box is a circle that has a 6 pointed star or flower inside. It has 7 specs that look like diamonds. Also underneath the setting it is hollow. It is probably costume jewelry but I just wanted to make sure, because if it an antique I don't want to wear everyday and damage it. Thanks for your help!!!
