screenshot from doorstops.com (I found the site from an old post of Mart's, so I'm assuming their trustworthy?)

I'm not going to start quoting the internet chapter and verse and provide links and such, but I did a little research and found several 1940s Hubleys marked "Made in USA." It wasn't the usual practice, but it happened.
That's what I've noticed, too

Antique Questions Forum / Any Hubley Collectors Here? Dachshund Doorstop
« on: November 29, 2020, 11:45:34 am »
I have a cast iron doorstop that looks like Hubley #326 Adolf.  I put it on ebay after I got positive feedback from cast iron collectors on facebook.  I got a message, informing me that it's not an authentic Hubley, because it measures just over 5 1/2" tall, instead of 6 1/4" as listed in Hubley's catalog.

Any idea of the maker or this one or if there were any size variations in Hubley's doorstops?

Is the dog a pitbull? or maybe a terrier?

Picked these up at auction.  (I misplaced the mounting brackets, already  :o)  2 amber glass pieces came with the lot.  I can't figure out what they have to do with the sconces.  At first I thought maybe a snuffer, but that doesn't really make sense.  They are about 3 1/2" tall.

Sorry for the long wait, Better late, then never? ::)

Looks homemade.  It is non-magnetic, painted metal.  The top is the same metal as the rest.

Picked this up in an online auction.  Any idea what the style is?  I'm having trouble finding similar ones online  It measures approx. 18" in diameter.  It was listed as a Mid Century Bar Chandelier

Antique Questions Forum / Can't Figure Out This Wood Angled Lamp
« on: November 07, 2015, 03:18:08 pm »
Any ideas to help me identify this lamp? It measures about 3 feet tall.  I've been searching "angled wood lamp" "industrial angled lamp," etc.  but can't find a similar one.

No markings, that I can see.  Someone on facebook said that a similar elephant was used by a photographer at the Audubon Zoo, in New Orleans years ago.  I'm not having any luck finding a pic, though.  I'm gonna try searching postcards from the Audubon Zoo, maybe find a clue, there.  Also, while loading it, I discovered an umm "2nd trunk," on the underside.  Decorated like the rest of the piece.  Not sure if that's relevant or not.  :o

Picked this up the other day at an estate sale.  They called it a parade elephant.  It's all wood, about 70lbs and measures 32" x 32" x 17"  The elephant is mounted to the base and the wheels still roll (a little labored, but it rolls)  Hoping someone can tell me where it's from ???
