Thanks, any definite info you find is gratefully received! By mid century you mean mid 19th, right? They must have been pretty popular, as examples of this range turn up quite frequently at fairs.

Here is one more I've found, with a unique number embossed (think that's the right word!) into the pottery itself and a roman numeral beneath.

Here are three random bases. All of them have similar sets of numbers, of varying clarity. They also have very light numbers scratched into them, as you might be able to make out on one of the photos.

Hello,

I've been collecting the following range of pottery, but no seller has been able to provide any concrete information about it. It has no obvious factory mark, but there are numerous examples, all with similar patterns. It is possibly Bavarian or Hungarian and from the later nineteenth century, but no one knows for sure. I'd be grateful for any information people can provide!
