Thanks, that's what I was thinking in the first place but then I saw the label and wasn't sure. Thank you for your help.

EBay Forum / Re: FEED BACK APPRECIATED!

I sell for a number of people in the area,  I would never send a message like that regardless of what something sells for.  The people I sell for have been made very aware that items may sell for a low price and that fees eat up most of the money made and are ok with it.  Definitely, not a very professional seller.  Just because it's an online sale, doesn't mean that you treat a customer any different than you would face to face in my opinion.  I hope that you find a good resolution and sorry you lost out on a cool item.  I too am curious about who this was so I can avoid them  ;D

Thanks KC, I couldn't get them to post for me.  Probably operator error  :D  So any idea on a value?  If I am going to sell, it's going to happen this week because we are moving into a smaller storage unit and it's time to sell off the stuff we don't "need" and probably won't get to for a while as far as restoration.

I am still trying to figure out why this forum keeps telling me that "your session has timed out" and "body of message left blank" when I try to attach any photos either from my computer or phone.

Still on that dial up I see :) I was having issues getting the pics off my phone to upload on any site and got photo bucket to finally let me. The one I'm most interested in us the Headley & Farmer. I have narrowed the years down to 1890-1930 based on the lock type. I will see if this phone will let me upload the pics, maybe it was aN operator error the other time I tried lol

This trunk smells like cedar so I am pretty sure that is what lines it.  Measures 34" long, 20" deep, and 22.5" tall.  Straps on sides are also missing, no spongy areas that I found on this one either.  No markings that I could find to show manufacturer.

This trunk measures 32" long, 19.5" deep, and 22" tall.  Straps are gone, made by Headley & Farmer that was in business from 1842-1930.  Has wheels on it that I am positive are not original to the trunk.  Does appear to be solid, I couldn't find any spongy spots in it anywhere.

Antique Questions Forum / A couple trunks I acquired over the years...

I am curious as to some history and value of these trunks I have acquired over the years.  I am thinking of selling them and want to know that I am offering them for a fair price.  I will make 2 more posts after this one, one with each trunk and what I know about them so far.

Thanks cogar, now maybe I might be able to find out more info on that one.  That is what spurred me to join this forum in the first place  :)

As for the one you are all calling a ladder back,  I have a set of cherry ladder backs that are much wider than these... would this one still be considered the same even with the back being about half the width as my others?

Also as far as other pics go, if I have to put up a photobucket album, just let me know if that would be easier.  :)

Thanks ghopper.  That dresser does not have a new top, the previous owner sanded it a bit much.

This is a pair of dressers that we picked up at a garage sale.  Story that goes with them is that they were the guy's grandmother's.  She received them as a graduation gift in the 1930s.  No markings on these either but again my boyfriend and daughter fell in love with them so it was a done deal.  The taller of the two has compartments in the top drawer and a ceder lined bottom drawer.  I have some closer pics of hardware if anyone needs to see that to help out with the value.
