Those sound like some good ideas. There are no markings on it that I have been able to find.

We don't know... It does look like the tip may have held a lead at some point. But the tip also looks burnt... maybe used for soldering or something.

Hey, somebody just brought this into our mall, and nobody can seem to figure out what it is! Does anyone know?

It seems to be made of bronze, and folds up flat. The base forms a sort of tripod. The arm on the top is jointed in three places and comes to a point at the end. We cannot find any markings anywhere on it!

What is your location !! Maybe there is something in the location that would help !! Pretty sure it had a farm use !! But for what ???

We're in Oregon, so some sort of farm use is certainly a possibility...

Ok, that definitely seems to be on the right track. After searching a bit on Google, though, I still can't find a flax brake with more than two or three blades. The flax breaks tend to also have more of a blade, rather than flat slats, though. They also tend to have the blades come all the way together. On this one, when it is shut all the way, there is still space in between each of the slats.

Hmm... that's a good idea, GG, but I don't think so. I've tried some searches on Google along those lines, and haven't found anything promising.

There does seem to be a slight dip in the bottom pieces though, where they have been worn down from use.

It doesn't seem greasy at all, but it has probably been sitting unused for a very long time. The edges of the top piece are flat, just like the bottom.

Corrugating what, though? It would have to be something pretty thin to use wood...

Toys, inside of lid, and inserts

Hey, I am trying to find out any information I can about a vintage toy called "Multiflex". It comes in a boardgame-like cardboard box. It says the name, gives some directions, and says "Made in U. S. A.". There is no information given on the maker or age. If anybody can find anything out about it, I would like to know anything, particularly value.

In the box are wooden blocks of different shapes an colors. They have small holes drilled into them where pipe cleaners can be inserted to build things.

The directions on the inside of the lid are as follows:

DIRECTIONS
for
MULTIFLEX
The construction toy of unlimited possibilities

All we need is a pair of scissors and we will have fun galore.
Let's make that funny looking man with skis on the front cover:

First, cut a piece of flexiwire about 2" long, put the hat on, then the
face, and push the lower end of the wire into the top hole of the body. For the
scarf cut a piece of wire about 3" long and twist it around our man's neck. --
Now let's make the arms and the ski poles. First, cut a piece of wire about 5"
long, stick it into the armhole of the body, put the bead for the hand on and bend
the wire in a right angle. Do the same for the second arm. -- For the legs cut
wire 3" long, put it into the leghole of the body, string the 3 beads on and put
the lower end into the hole in the middle of the ski. Do the same for the second
leg and here is our man, all ready and smiling.

and how about making an airplane, a giraffe, a bird, a tank?
LET'S TRY!
If you run out of flexiwire, just go and get some pipe cleaners.
Made in U. S. A.

And that's all the information on the box. Any help learning about this very cool toy would be much appreciated!
Pictures to follow.
