Hi Folks. I have an enigma.
I have what I believe is a rather unique and rare piece of work.
It came from China in WW2 and was very old then.
It is a small [size of a big rat] stalking tiger that for a long time I thought was bronze - as it is a shiny dark brown colour, but it turns out to be made from small sheets of lead that have been 'welded' together.
I have looked for ages trying to find something like it.
I once took it to Dales Bros auctioneers in Durban S Africa - who boast that the 2nd generation had been 'trained' at Christies in UK. Ha. They didnt have a clue!!!
Sorry no pix today as I dont have Inet an am using a friends so will find the pix and send them in a day or two.
Meanwhile if someone can kindly point me in the right direction I`d be grateful.
I have written to a Chinese cultural org but no reply yet.
Regards
