Found this painting yesterday while I was waiting to pick up my girlfriend from work. For $10 I couldn't pass up. It's been removed from it's frame. It's signed Roberto Sanchez and either the middle initial has been abbreviated at the end of the signature or the 'T.' means Trademark. I'm going to assume the middle name though. Looks to be acrylic or oil done.

Any info on this artist/value?

Thanks
Daniel

Antique Questions Forum / 1920's display cabinet?
« on: April 14, 2016, 06:21:10 pm »
Ive been looking for a Barrister case for a while now. However I recently found this single door 3 shelf display cabinet. The original glass is missing. Other than that it is all original and by the looks of it, in great shape. I talked and showed it to a co-worker who is antiques and he said by the looks of it it is around 1920-1930's art deco. He guessed 20's since the top of it is rolled vs flat.

Seller wants $75 and I'm probably gonna pick it up this weekend. Any opinions on it of value vs price and the age/rarity of it?

Thanks in advance.
Daniel

Antique Questions Forum / Indian Ink drawing (pictures)

Found this and I really just liked it for the drawing itself. Looks modern and just looks nice on the wall.

It is hand drawn, and as well has a signature. However, the signature looks as though it reads "Lady"

Whether referring to the actual drawing, or if it I am reading it wrong and it says something else.

Tell me what you think and a Possible value!

You are exactly right on that mate. B Med. Hahaha you're awesome dude. Would have never thought.

Do you think I should leave it original? Or should I go with my original plan of restoring it. Not just a slap paint job, but actual nice stain and such?

What kind of value do you think this piece has in general aswell? for what it is?

1955 is also stamped on the bottom of both doors, as well as I forgot to add this other photo of another piece of paper with some info on the item.

Pulls are 50`s,,no key/lock which it would have if 1920`s, or if it has one I can`t see it,,style is 50`s !! Not saying it hasn`t been worked on,,may have,, pics don`t enlarge !!  Is that a brass plate at the bottom front ??

Plate at the bottom is not brass. It is painted gold/brass colour.

Found this piece, when my girlfriend and I were out shopping around today at thrift stores and such.

The price was I feel right at $15.

Any info on this piece in what it is exactly it with the side few windows and lift up top would be greatly appreciated. Any value on it as well would be nice. It's all mahogany from what I can tell. I will be restoring it, once spring time comes with new glass and finish obviously.

Thanks

Found this at a yard sale. Just wondering if anyone knowns whom the artist is. From what I can make out... his name is Kurt W. Halin or Kurt W. Halan or possibly even Halen. Also the painting has been named and dated. The name is Mountain Brook and the date is Dec 17th 1972

Any value as well?

Check it out.

Antique Questions Forum / R Bendel Kissing pigs

Found these two little cute piggys at a yard sale today. Before I could make an offer, she mentioned that the one had a pretty good sized crack. She gave them to me for free. But the other was in very good condition. Has the 1958 patent date and such on it as well.

What would a value be on these with the one being cracked, and the other in good condition?

Antique Questions Forum / Mystery Bottle
« on: July 28, 2013, 09:04:40 am »
I was out a couple garage sales yesterday and I found some cool liquor "nip" bottles for 25 cents each. The other two I got are just basic bottles, from modern makers, that I found cool.

But then I found this older clay bottle. I tried looking it up, but the on thing I could make of it, was that it had Brandy in it and from what I can make out.. It is either French or german. Here is a picture of it, so maybe you all could make a little more sense of it and maybe a value. Has its original cork as well

Thanks, Daniel.

Antique Questions Forum / Brass coal box?
« on: June 15, 2013, 01:41:16 am »
I've had this box for over 2 years and I have always wondered what exactly it is. I looked up brass boxes and a few similar ones came up. But I thought I would come here and get some expert opinions on it and possibly a value

Thanks
Daniel
