Picked this pretty little dish up at a Salvation Army a few weeks ago. Wondering if anyone can identify the mark on the bottom.

Looks quite different to me, but I know there are millions of these out there, so it may just be an unknown potter.

How do I leave kudos for members that have helped me out??

Antique Questions Forum / Help Identifying Mark on Mexican Vase
« on: May 13, 2014, 12:47:03 pm »
Does anyone know who this mark belongs to? Looks like "JE" or maybe "JL" but I can't find anything on it on the internets.

Thanks again for any help!

Antique Questions Forum / Japanese Hinged Shrine

I have found others like this, but it seems like the ones I have found only have the information I already know (hinged shrine, Buddha, Japanese). Is there a specific name for these? Can anyone tell me about the recessed stamp (pictured)?

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

Antique Questions Forum / Another George Jones Reproduction? Vase
« on: May 13, 2014, 10:21:21 am »
Thanks for the help with the squirrel platter. This morning, at the same thrift shop, I found this unmarked vase. Looks like the same style of the last reproduction, and is similar to a George Jones piece, but the bird is all wrong. Just a poor repro?

Well I paid $1.50 for it in a thrift store.  ;D I just looked on ebay and saw a replica that had sold for $200, and others listed for $200+

Any help is much appreciated

Please help! I've been looking through a glossary of symbols for quite a while and can't find this one. Of course, it may be upside down, sideways, or backwards.... I'm sure you can tell that I am an expert on chinese symbols  ;D ;D

Guess this won't make me a millionaire today! Thanks for your help. Could you tell me anything else about the glaze, etc.? I'd like to know--or appear to know-- what I'm talking about with this piece displayed!

Thank you again!

Hello friends!

I know this doesn't constitute and antique, but if anyone knew the answer, I knew it would be you guys. You have been so helpful in the past!

I found this 5" tall pitcher signed "REID '71" at a yard sale last weekend for $4. I see there are quite a few potters with this surname, and thought maybe the experts would know which one. It is a beautiful piece, and will be enjoyed even if it's only worth the $4 I paid!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Nothing else. The made in Italy stamp is a bit worn down, so there may have been one at one time, but there is no remnant of it that I can see. I have gone over it with the ole' magnifying glass.
