I would say that Pottery Craft out of California is the answer. Thank you for sharing the knowledge.

Found this vase the other day. The piece is signed AC or RC, can't really read the initials that are Copyrighted USA. The piece is approximately 8" tall.

Thanks for the link, awesome site.

I am no expert but that looks pretty new for being 150 years old. The Pioneer Historical Society sounds like a place that prints copies of historically significant events.

very nice...I wouldn't hit the nose with a hammer thou.

That is lovely. I live in Michigan. I sent online photos to Christie's and Sotheby's. Where do you suggest I sell the painting.

just got back from Dumouchelles. The painting is real. He figures Marshall Field sold it as well as the Cooling Gallery somewhere in it's history. In  the small amount of research he did his conservative estimate is 2-4K but said he wouldn't be surprised with a final sale figure of 10-15K. I am waiting on Christie's & Sotheby's reply in 4-6 weeks.

I wanted to leave the painting as original as possible.

I found through my research that Marshall Field used to have an art department. They sold art and did framing, unfortunately I could not find reference to the years that they offered art. When I look at the Marshall Field tag I assumed that the 650.00 was a price, but there's no dollar sign on the sticker. Perhaps Marshall Field just reframed the painting, and the sticker is related to the frame and not a price at all. The Cooling Gallery started in the 1800's and has been out of business for thirty years. Thanks for all the positive help. I am so excited about this painting my head could explode.

There is a paint texture to the surface. My mom is a professional artist who paints in oils so I have some knowledge about paintings. I showed it to her and she agrees that it is a painting. My main concern is that the painting is a vintage reproduction. I paid $85 for the piece.

The round sticker is a member of the bond street association sticker. I have included the Marshall Field tag and a close up of the painting from the side. I have looked at the painting with a loop and it sure looks like an oil painting to me.

picked this junkin at an estate sale. Have found some values online. Oil on canvas with canvas measuring approximately 14" x 20". Has a Marshall Fields price tag marked $650.00. Looks re-framed. Any opinions
