Modified so photo links worksI recently visited an antique store in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The store owner claimed that his items were salvaged from shipwrecks off the coast of South Asia. For about 2,000 Taka ($25) I purchased a metal belt (pics below). I planned on researching it myself upon returning to the states, and I have, but have not been able to find any background on the belt. I'd like to get an idea of who would have worn the belt and how old it might be, but I'm flying blind. I would very much appreciate some guidance to steer my research in the right direction.
Please take a look at the pics below and let me know if you have any ideas. The belt appears to be made of a light metal, possibly copper or brass.
