Antique Questions Forum / Gorham Plate
« on: April 27, 2015, 07:07:10 pm »
Hello everyone I have a Gorham plate but I'm not sure what these symbols mean. Can Anyone tell me what they mean and what it might be worth?

Thanks

Found another plate made by Anton Heilingötter. Look at the markings they are very similar.

Thanks Mat. I think you might be right. I just have to look into it a little further and figure which story is being told about Moses. Also thank you for the extra info on the artist as well. I love the craftsmanship done on this piece. Thanks again.

I have a plate made from pewter which I'm assuming from the hallmarks on the back. It has a beautiful carving on the face of the plate. It looks a Roman centurion maybe Biblical. Would anyone have a clue? Thanks everyone.

I saw that too. I believe it is the same one. This was among other items that was acquired from an estate and the previous owner is now deceased. So I have no info. Thanks for your time on this.

Sure KC and thanks. Hope this works:

I have a silver bowl stamped with a G on the top, STG ond the second line and 1926 on the bottom. I believe the STG stands for sterling silver but the G I'm assuming is the maker's mark. Would anyone know it? Thanks

I have a Inrō box and would like to know if anyone can identify the markings. They could be just the name of the person who made but I want to be sure. I believe the writing could be Japanese but want to be sure. Thanks

Hello everyone again. I have a mirror and I wanted see if anyone would know the significance of the griffins on the top of the mirror or better yet the maker of this mirror. It has these 2 griffins and I think it might be Victorian style maybe French. What do you guys think? It stands 49.5" Inches tall and 28.5 inches wide. Thanks

Thank you KC I too got stuck on those last two. Thanks everyone for the info. Really do appreciate it. This is the only link I found on someone else who had the same issue as myself. Although the images are not shown the description is exact on the markings. Once again Thanks.
