The u part screws onto the end of the little post so it would turn if you would sit anything on it.

The part with the 'u' slides up and down the main pole, which adjusts also.  The 'u' part is longer on one end than the other.

Just hoping someone can tell me what this stand is. Its adjustable and has an iron base under the metal. Its marked 'McKenna Bros Pittsburg' and the number 8. Thanks in advance!

Just looks like rust to me. Someone told the store owners they were pedals for an old pump organ but I thought they'd be closer together if they were and the one wouldn't be so much longer than the other.

Salvage store. They weren't sure what they were either. The wooden parts do turn.

Antique Questions Forum / Old stove parts?
« on: October 27, 2013, 11:12:18 am »
Am I correct in assuming these are parts from an old cast iron stove? I found them outside a workshop that had one inside. The long pieces are marked M54870 on top, the grate piece is a little over 12" across.

I'm trying to translate the first page of an old book. I was hoping someone is better with German(if that's what it is) and could help. I'm having trouble figuring out the letters with the fancy script. Thanks for the help!
